After over 44 years of marriage, two grown children, and three grandchildren, a guy like myself needs something to keep me out of trouble. I began as an experimental furniture builder, only making small pieces for our home. Year by year, I found myself making more challenging pieces until I discovered I may have found my niche in life.
Having recently built a new log home and barn on several acres, it was necessary to clear land for its landscape. As a furniture maker, I was saddened to think of all the valuable wood that was about to be hauled away and never be seen in the beauty of a fine piece of furniture. That was the moment I realized that my dream of furniture making from conception to completion could become a reality. I enlisted the services of a local mobile saw mill and had the timber cut into lumber. Utilizing the space in my newly constructed barn, the lumber was then stickered, stacked and air dried to a moisture content favorable for making fine furniture. I now have my own sawmill and cut my own lumber.
As a VP for a food corporation, my office is in my home. My work days involve extensive traveling to areas in the southeastern part of the country but whenever I'm home, I can be found in my workship making furniture. One could say I've found the "love of my life", no pun intended, honey!! But honestly speaking, aside from the love for my family, this is where I would choose to lay my head at night.
There's nothing greater than the aroma of a fresh apple pie baking in the oven, right? Well, you ought to get the whiff of fresh raw wood screaming for attention. There is nothing like it.
I currently have several pieces of furniture complete and ready for sale. Specialty-made furniture will require the use of either pre-existing plans or plans I will draft and customize based upon your requirements. Wood selection is unlimited: Pine, maple, cherry, oak, birch, black walnut, mahogany, wormy chestnut, the list goes on and on. YOU decide what YOU want and I will make it YOUR way.

And by the way, the remainder of my spare time is spent raising three rabbits (Oscar, Ratchet, and Floppy) (Ratchet and Oscar have passed away) who belong to our grandchildren, collecting and refurbishing antique tractors, planting and caring for a vegetable and herb garden, and manicuring and nurturing the land that I am so profoundly grateful for.
